Yumminess.
Pure, lovely yumminess.
These are maple pecan scones. They are a Pioneer Woman recipe. I love The Pioneer Woman. She has pretty much single-handedly taught me how to cook. I made these from scratch. That's right, from scratch. Some butter, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, heavy cream, pecans, maple flavoring, powdered sugar and butter.
Who knew those ingredients could come together to make something so incredibly lovely? I made them a few weeks ago and made them again last night. I put some in the freezer to see if they freeze well. I hope so!
I feel so domestic and feminine when I make something so yummy from scratch. You may think it's funny that it evokes such strong emotions in me... but I was pretty much raised by a pack of wolves whose idea of a nice dinner was some hamburger helper set on the table. I grew up mostly with my daddy and two older brothers. Let's just say I didn't learn much about cooking from then. I did learn a lot about how to make cereal and order from a drive-through though!
