I'm enjoying my smoothie and my country music turned up high while Rob is at a basketball game tonight.
One of my favorite songs is playing right now, Alan Jackson's "Where were you when the world stopped turning?" I love hanging out with my husband, but occasionally it's nice to have a few quite evening hours to myself. Especially when it means I can blog and listen to my country music guilt free!

Here's the recipe:
A handful of spinach
A stalk of celery
A banana
An orange (peeled)
A handful of green grapes
Some frozen peaches
8 frozen strawberries (not pictured, there wasn't enough room in my blender... and I wanted to try it without the strawberries first. The strawberries definitely made it better!)
2 TBSP flax seed
1 cup of water
6 ice cubes
The verdict? Quite good. I'm a fan of strawberries, and the flavor is strong enough to mask the green taste pretty well. I can still taste a bit of celery though. Maybe the celery tastes stronger tonight because I kept the leaves on?
Who knows, I'm still trying to figure this stuff out. Though like I said yesterday, I think smoothies are hard to mess up.
And again, they're far more nutritious than the hot chocolate and 1/4 poppy seed muffin I had this morning, or the (very small) bowl of chocolate brownie ice cream I had two hours ago.
Here's to replacing my bad habits, one good habit at a time!

Did the orange make a difference? I've done a couple oranges and I feel so bad throwing it into a smoothie after I spent all that time peeling it!
