Proverbs 31

I was just typing out Provers 31 for the back of my control journal. I know I'm disobeying FlyLady because she says not to do anything on the computer for the control journal yet (she's trying to curb perfectionist tendencies of people who won't do anything when they can't do it perfectly). She's probably right, but I had some inspiration this morning and I wanted to run with it.

After all, it's my first day of rest after VBS, and it's what I felt like doing. And I have nothing else I HAVE to do today. So, I'm designing a front cover and a back cover for my control journal.

On the back I'm typing out Proverbs 31. It gives great advice, wisdom and inspiration for all women as to how to be virtuous. I certainly feel the need to be a Provers 31 woman as a wife and mother. However, I feel an urgency to strive toward these virtues as a pastor's wife. After all, my husband  has a huge job and an  extremely important job as someone who pastors and shepherds people. I can either help or hinder him in his calling. That means I have a big job too!

What I can't get over is this line: "She gets up while it is still dark. She provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls."

First of all, who wants to get up while it's still dark? But that's another story all together. What I really gets me is that she has servant girls. If I had servant girls I'm sure I could accomplish the task of becoming a Proverbs 31 woman a whole lot faster!

But for now, I'm doing what I can. I have no servant girls. It's just me and I'm doing the best I know how. Here are the first drafts of my front and back covers for my control journal. I'm hoping they'll keep me focused on why I'm trying to do what I'm trying to do!

What a beautiful idea!!!

It is so enormously different when I get up before my kids (and they like to wake before 6:00am!). I love the way God gives me peace about the day and my duties. Even with no servant girls, we can make a plan and prioritize! Thanks for inspiring me and giving me some insights!
