When I have more time?

Once Leeann entered kindergarten I spent quite some time thinking about all of the things I was going to do once Summer hit and life slowed down a little. Summer came, and with it came a few unexpected things (like a teenage foster daughter), and before I knew it I found myself thinking about all of the things I was going to do once Fall came, and Leeann was in school, and life slowed down a little bit.

Then, Fall came, and with it came a few unexpected things (like our renters moving out), and before I knew it I found myself knee deep in rental postings, inspections, cleaning and repairing, application checking and phone calls galore.

Beyond our rental (and still trying to sell our condo, mind you), and a foster kiddo, we've continued to be crazy busy with all of the things that crowd in on our lives. Most of it's great stuff. Most of it's worthwhile. But all of it together is overwhelming.

I feel like in so many ways life is really good for us right now. On the other hand, I am beginning to long and ache for a time of rest and relaxation that seems to be around every corner. It's around every corner, but every time I turn the corner it eludes me yet again...

I heard a pastor say on Sunday that all we actually have is today. Tomorrow never comes :)

It's so true isn't it? Travis has promised me that 'it will slow down' since before we were married. It never actually does, it just changes from one type of busy to another...but at least we can laugh everytime he says, "It will slow down soon honey!"

When the time comes that everything finally slows down you will be missing all these busy days when your kids were little and your life was hectic:)
